I haven’t updated this for quite some time so now is good.
Just this past week we’ve been working hard and updating AnimeAppeal.com Had a few minor glitches but nothing we couldn’t sort out with a bit of head scratching. Seems to be running smooth with the latest vBulletin 4.0.0 You might want to go over and check it out.

After about a week of having charter communication in and out of the hotel, Finally they came to replace the cable modem.. We had a tech come out orginally and determine it was the modem. Early the next week they replaced the cable drop to the hotel and said this was to problem.
By the end of the week the orginal tech came out and was mad as hell. Told me someone cabnceled his ticket and he told them what the problem was.. Hooked our modem up and power cycled all the equipment after he made the required calls.
Fast now.. We are now running at the speed we should be. Our plan is 5 meg down and we would only get 1.5 meg down.. No one could explain this for years.. Well now it’s been explained.
Fast…. And since thin no more complaints from the guests.

For the past couple of days the internet at work has been slow.. Small to normal webpages pull fine. I got a notice from a guest that he couldn’t watch his netflix on his computer and the speed test was only pulling 580. Way to slow.. Today I had trouble pulling PDF files.
I called Charter Business and explained what was happening.. He confirmed issues, said there is noise on the line and major packet loss. I wasn’t there but I did get a call from work and the tech was already there. He said the lines look good so he’s thinking the modem might be having issues. Should be replaced if he can get one or Monday.
I love calling Charter business. There are never any problems, the techs are fast and ontime and never any hassles.. Now it’s a 180 degree turn when you call Charter Residential, seems you have to jump through 15 different hoops only to have the CS operator tell you it’s your computer not the service. If only the residential side was as effiecient and friendly as the business side.
Over and out

Ugh… What else can we say..
Our call accounting unit at the hotel when on the disconnect today. Well for the last week or so it’s been disconnecting and reconnecting. Not a big problem but to totally crapped out today. I called support line. After waiting on hold for about 10 minutes I decided to leave a voice message and wait for them to call back. Hours later no call yet.. But that doesn’t surprise me. So I have about 30 minutes left before I leave and figure I’d make another call. Got connected to an agent right away this time. She connected to the Admin PC and 1-2 minutes later the call accounting is connected and working as it should..
Why does it take so long and sometimes so hard just to get support to fix an issue. A very fast and easy fix too.

Well. Our HP 3550 Laserjet came with a 50.9 fuser error. I looked it up and HP recommends to remove the fuser and reseat. Then turn on. Did this several times and no go. Still comes with this error.
Sent in the Laserjet to get fixed. Quick service, less then 24 hours to fix. But at a cost of $311.oo to get a new fuser and installation. The printer prints very quick and very nice. But the only drawback is the cost of repairs. Suppose you could also count the initial cost of the unit. But we are back in business.

After I finished porting the theme so the forum and Wordpress looks alike, which wasn’t fun but once I figured it out it went well. But I added the “WordPress to vBulletin”.
What does this do? If you are logged into the forum, all you have to do is visit the ComputerVitals Blog , you will automatically be added to the blog users. This will allow you to post a blog post or comments on a blog post. In addition, it will also post a thread in the forum when there is a new blog post. Also when you reply tot he post in the forum or on the blog they will update both ways. Well that’s the way it’s suppose to work.
Buzz… Out…

Hey all,
If you have purchased a computer system with Windows Vista you may be eligible for a free Windows 7 upgrade. Each manufacturer has it’s own requirements on systems and times you purchased the system.
We just bought an Acer Vista 64 bit for the lobby at our hotel. I read upon this upgrade and and checked out Acer’s website and found even though we have a 64 bit system it’s still eligible for the upgrade. I filled out the information and we will be sent an upgrade disk of “Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit” This should arrive shortly after October 22 of this year.
Still debating if we should actually upgrade the hotel computer.
For those wondering about the program, you can go here. Windows 7 Upgrade Option
